The Danny Morris Band's "Storm Surge" is easily the most expansive and unpredictable album of the lot. Purists may scoff at Morris's guitar eclecticism, but like the late Danny Gatton, he clearly views musical variety as the spice of life. This time around, in fact, he's embarked on a "surfin' guitar safari," so
he and his bandmates can combine their passion for beach music, television themes, spaced-out novelties and other curious six- string sounds with their fundamental attraction to electric blues -
Morris, after all, is a former member of the Nighthawks. Two words of advice: buckle up!
